If the original cabin filter provides activated carbon odor control, confirm that the replacement media meets that function. If an aftermarket housing has changed the sealing surface, the OE cross-reference may no longer be enough. And if someone asks a filter supplier to do differential pulse voltammetry, treat that as a lab project, not a filter approval. A specialist can say “I don’t know” without losing credibility. The risk is pretending to know and shipping the wrong part.
